At Handgun Hunter’s Competition we had four Spohr revolver shooters competing. We had Mark Klett, Joe Dworak, Jessica Rhodes, and myself (Chris Rhodes). We have all turned to Spohr looking for that perfect revolver right out of the box, and we have found it! I have posted both blogs and videos about my wife’s and my Spohr experiences but now it’s time to hear from the other shooters.
Bellow are quotes from Mark and Joe that they emailed in:
Joe Dworak
“I purchased my first Spohr in June 2023, immediately after attending my first HHC competition. I wanted to upgrade my current inventory to a quality match grade handgun for the 2024 HHC match. After some heavy research and questions to Spohr (and the US distributor), I selected the Spohr 286 Competition, added a EGW rear mount, Burris 2-7×32 optic.
Upon receiving this gun and taking it to the range, I was immediately impressed. The Spohr outperformed all of my other guns. After doing some load development I now shoot 1” groups at 25 yards from simple rests/bags. I’m shooting 2.5” groups offhand at 25yd.
I will be purchasing a second Spohr in the very near future. I will be using my 286 in the Optic division, and the second one in the IronSight division. Spohr has proven itself as a high grade quality handgun. It is comfortable and the craftsmanship is some of the finest I’ve ever seen. While I was a little worried about the initial price, it has fully paid for itself and worth every penny!
I cannot and will not settle for sub-standard in the future.”

Mark Klett
“What I like about my Spohr, Mark Klett
I chose the Spohr model 562 Tactical series.
My main aspects I wanted was the ability to use an EGW scope base for the SW platform, and I like a solid cylinder. I feel I like the bit of added mass right over my hand.
I put a Crimson trace 2.5-8x pistol scope on it. I’m using my own handloads of AL2400 powder with the Hornady 158 gr XTP.
The feel of the gun is very solid, its very tight in tolerance but works very smoothly.
As I got it sighted in and practiced I found all the shots of the cylinder to strike very consistently.
The trigger is very crisp, no creep in a single action pull. I don’t use as a double action as the use for this gun is 100% around hunting and hunting practice.
I also liked the feel over my Ruger GP100 that’s been converted to a Frankenruger for accuracy. The balance is much better on the Spohr since the mass is closer to my hand vs the Ruger where the mass is higher above my hand.
This helped me this year do my best ever position in third place for HHC in Newcastle Wyoming, June 2024.”

Just in case you missed it, my review of Spohr after HHC 2024.
All of us just got done competing at HHC where we shot the Spohr revolvers on realistic vital size targets from up close to beyond 150 yards. This is a test of accuracy like nothing else out there, and the Spohrs performed!
If you are considering a top shelf wheelgun, look no farther than Spohr!
