Everyone has (or should) the right to concealed carry for self defense. Getting the right gear to do so is often expensive; but what if it doesn’t have to be?
Striker Fired
Striker fired pistols are probably the most popular semi automatic type handgun for self defense in the USA. Just about every company has jumped on the band wagon making one. Every time they add the next hot feature the price jumps up a few more notches.

What if someone offered all of those features at a price equal to or slightly under the basic offerings from other manufacturers?Sarsilmaz, from Turkey, did just that!
Price Point
The SAR9sc is a sub compact pistol rich with features. Right out of the box it is punching above its weight. The SAR9sc has an MSRP of $529.99 but with a quick web search I found them for well under $500.
Optics
As stated the pistol is packed with features. As with all of today’s handguns, optics are in and the SAR9sc comes optics ready with factory support for multiple optics plates.
Night Sights

Maybe you are not a fan of pistol mounted optics or you would rather not make that investment right away. Sarsilmaz didn’t leave you out! The pistol comes with tritium night sights. Both front and rear. The front also has a nice yellow circle around the tritium to help with daylight shooting. These are very functional sights that will get you up and running as soon as you open the box.
Getting a Grip
They also include two magazines. One is flush fitting for increased conceal-ability and the other is extended for comfort on the range.

On some small pistols with optics there is little to no area to get a solid purchase to rack the slide. With this handgun they added plenty of texture to the front of the slide. Gripping the slide shouldn’t be an issue.
Trigger
With all this said, there has to be a negative right? There is no free lunch in the game of life. The SAR9sc is a striker fired pistol, and when you look at the internal pictures you will notice a resemblance to another famous gun maker.
The trigger on the SAR9sc has that standard long trigger pull of a striker fired handgun. With the trigger pull gauge I was able to weigh the trigger pull at just under 5 pounds. Which for a striker fired defensive gun is about normal.
The Fix
The negative side of the trigger pull is that it’s quite gritty with no distinct wall before the trigger breaks. Although I have not taken this pistol completely apart, I am willing to bet that techniques used by me in my shop to clean up Glock triggers would work wonders.
The SAR9sc is packed with features that make it a great offering in the sub compact market. With features like optics ready, tritium sights, accessory rails, and so on there are a lot of features for your hard earned dollars.
