Glock perfection-sort of
Quote from reflex264 on June 26, 2025, 7:24 amI love Glocks and I work on a lot of them. When setting one up for accuracy the single biggest issue is getting them to lock up consistently. I have fit Bar-Sto barrels to slides to achieve this. Not a hard job but you need to know what you are doing. Drop in barrels can be pretty good but usually involve some squaring. Since the slides are usually very good the fitting has to happen at the barrel hood where it locks into the ejection port. Recently I got a KKM barrel that was as perfect as it gets. The hood was absolutely square. To top it off the absolute best compromise clearance between the hood and the slide is .0015″ less and it can be temperamental with some ammo. more it will function but accuracy suffers. In an absolute first the latest barrel is “perfect”. I know there are been issues with their muzzle crowns which is an easy fix. This one was perfect. I may never see this again but here it is. On another note the frame of the gun is absolutely flat. This is a one in 1000 situation. The combination of the whole set up proved itself quickly. I had installed TAG Precision sights on the gun and could see them very well. From sandbags at 25 yards it will put 120 grain Cutting Edge bullets in ragged hole. I didn’t have enough magazines yet for the 10MM to take it to a shoot but I am planning on doing so. On an open sighted unlimited gun it doesn’t get any better.
The easiest gunsmithing is the kind where you don’t have to do anything except measure stuff.
