Your input is wanted again!
Going off the social media, blog, messages, and emails it sounds like…..
Group hunts are wanted!
-this we can do and probably start in 2024
A few have reached out wanting to write for the blog
-these persons who emailed me have been given instruction on how to…..more are welcome to reach out.
There is not enough feedback for a forum. Forums are essentially dead. Modern social media is easier for most to navigate. Long discussion can take place on blog posts in the same manor as a forum
Handgun Hunting Afield will continue to bring more content. And it will remain completely free for product reviews, viewers, and so on as long as possible.
HHA will not profit on group hunts in any way….we will just do our best to negotiate the best rate and sets some dates!
What critter would you want to see targeted for the first hunt?
Whitetail, hogs, western game, or? Comment bellow!

Western big game antelope gets my vote
Marschell wayment
Lope would be tough with the current population decline and the amount of preference points required.
Probably looking at deer, elk, or bear
Or hogs….forgot that one. That’s the easiest
Bear would also work
Hogs
Turkey would be fun, prairie dog get together could be a lot of fun and probably the cheapest
That’s an idea. Turkey in Wyoming is OTC and we have lots of land. Plus handgun legal in the spring!
Since elk cow tags are kinda easier to get, I think, would be a good way for guys to group up 2 or 3 to help each other, mainly as it becomes a meat harvesting pack out.
There are zones where a cow hunt could be drawn easily with zero points.
As of right now I think the possibilities for a group hunt are as follows.
1. WY spring handgun Turkey
2. Hogs east coast
3. Cow elk bighorns base camp group hunt.
I’d be up for the cow elk hunt
Lope would be fun but yes, the numbers are WAY down!!!
Turkey definitely could be fun/aggravating!
Hogs and western game , antelope and muledeer
Mule deer and lope will require preference points which can take years for people to build up. Those two probably will not happen.
Hogs or cow elk is something I’d be interested in.
I’d vote for the cow elk hunt
Looking into 2024…..
I can see a Wy handgun Turkey hunt in May.
We can use any handgun 17hmr or larger.
A hog hunt still working on the details.
Cow elk base came style hunt would be mid October.
I think a cow elk hunt would be great.
I think the cow elk would be a lot of fun.
Being an eastern hunter, I have always wanted to take an antelope and an elk with a revolver.
I’m leaning toward a Spring turkey hunt.
All sound fun and interesting but would have to see when and cost to commit! Maybe if state or regional people do the leg work and offer up local ideas
Cow elk are about 400
Turkey 75
Hog hunts are normally around 1k
I like the cow elk idea. I am still going toapply for all the bull tags that I normally do plus a few more next year. In case I strike out again a cow would be a great consolationg.
Hogs are always fun. Short trip for me as well.
I am already hunting turkeys in 5 states for 2024 so not going to have time for a Wyoming hunt. For those that can it would be a blast with a handgun. Turkey hunting is the most addictive substance on earth.
Once this hunting season in complete (November). I’ll begin posting group hunts. Don’t forget to buy Wyoming preference points! Those increase your draw odds.
